Cat Stevens is an artist with three separate career phases, but the one for which he is best-remembered — and best-loved- is as a pioneer of the acoustic singer-songwriter boom of the early-70s.
Emerging from a brief period as a teen pop star in the 60s ( a period that left him exhausted and ill), he rehabilitated by writing a new style of song. Introspective and unadorned, these songs would become the album Mona Bone Jakon, a brilliant collection represented here by the beautiful Katmandu.
Now he enetered his golden period. Tea For the Tillerman and Teaser and the Firecat are still recognised as two of the most essential albums of the decade, and it’s no surprise that a healthy number of songs from these albums made the cut for this collection of Cat Stevens guitar lessons.

Subsequent albums failed to capture the magical innocence of these first three but nonetheless contained a great deal of wonderful music, and you’ll learn Oh Very Young and Can’t Keep It In from these later albums.
