This is my attempt at rolling three of my early videos into one updated complete one. This is the Jazzy Intro to Neon from Where the Light is, continuing into the full song, including the middle jazzy interlude, all with onscreen TAB. I redid the entire TAB from scratch and fixed a lot of minor errors and timing issues here and there. My old vids taught the sextuplet raking in a way different from what John Mayer was doing so this also corrects that bit.

The TAB is note for note but I do switch to “economy” instruction for the 3rd and 4th choruses and 3rd, 4th, and 5th Prechoruses in the video for example. I’m sure you’ll agree that the variations are either minor, or on the other hand, so greatly improvised that it is best to give a general idea over note for note instruction in those cases. The Jazzy intro and Interlude are all note for note, as are the major variations like the chord verse in verse 3.

It’s on the long side, even after I edited the heck out of it to make it as short as could be, but all of my vids turn out like that. If you want note for note detail, things tend to get loooong. People wanting short and sweet will have to look elsewhere.

I’ll be pointing the old videos to this one over the next few days.

On another note I’ll be putting up PAYPAL donate buttons on my vids soon. Friends have been telling me for years to charge for the tabs, even $1, etc, and considering I spend weeks on them and days on the vids, it sometimes doesn’t sound like a bad idea, but I’m all about FREE and just looking to be kept in fresh guitar strings. A donate button may do the trick. In any case, the vids will always have tabs onscreen even if I decide to sell the electronic copies down the road.

I hope you enjoy it!

Cheers!
