The lesson begins with the verse which consists of 2 chord shapes: D and G, and a simple strumming pattern. We work on the switches from D to G, I show you some tricks to get it accurate, and then we take a look at the strumming.
Alternate strumming pattern can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y36X-j3EqME&list=PLCokMw1vYIAjDKPcVhsNB8RA6erwF5DJD&index=2
It’s all downstrokes, which is SO simple. To make it come to life, we need to add dynamics, which means accenting the 2nd and 4th beat. This is one of the most important aspects of music. Following that, we put it together with the chord shapes from the verse and play along.
The chorus requires 3 additional shapes: C, Em and Am. We work on the switching and then add the strumming pattern.
After working on the chorus and verse separately, we put ’em together and assemble the tune.
Enjoy the lesson and I’ll see you soon!
