📚 Description: I purchased a high-end guitar from Sweetwater this week and as part of the deal, I got one of these new Gibson stands thrown in to the deal. The mahogany version retails at $199.99 and the walnut one is $249.99. I kind of which I would’ve went with the walnut one, but beggars can’t be choosers.
After I had got this stand, I was on Amazon and ran across a stand that looked exactly like this one, but without the Gibson branding called Zither. It turns out Zither makes these for Gibson – just like how Thalia Brand Capos / Phone Cases recently partnered with Gibson to offer their products with the legendary guitar maker’s name on them.
I can honestly say, I prefer the look of the original Zither brand ones and love the additional wood/color choices. I’d love a few of the purple ones! Had I have known about these Zither stands previously, I just would’ve gotten one of those.
These are nice stands. They are expense for a stand, but these are like fine furniture. They are there to complement your home and your guitar. These are meant for people that have disposable income or plan to use it to make money with (IE photography.) I would not recommend this stand to your average user, but for the high-end client, they are pretty nice.
These will require some maintenance with oil to perform and look their best. Gibson does a terrible job at disclosing that – but the Zither listing is much more transparent about it.
