First upload from the new studio! In this lesson we take a look at SRV’s Riviera Paradise from Austin City Limits, particularly focusing on the short solo section around 5:40 minutes in. I’ve been seeing this clip going around on Instagram recently so I had to do a lick breakdown showing the techniques used!
This solo section displays Stevie’s alternate picking accuracy, as well as showing you can play aggressively in more subdued parts of a song. He’s essentially playing a violin with a sledgehammer, total aggression while still playing dynamically.
