This is the style made popular by groups like Gipsy Kings, Jesse Cook, Ottmar Liebert, Armik, Johannes Linstead… to name a few.
I’ll start by showing you how to finger the most exotic and mysterious chord. It does use a bit of stretch… but I’ll also offer an easier version to start off.
Then I’ll show you the most pretty sounding of the three. You’ll likely find this Spanish guitar chord the easiest of the three… but not quite as exotic.
The third chord is one of the most common chords used for new Flamenco guitar. Even though it looks similar to a bar chord, you’ll find it much easier.
Practice these three chords and you’ll be ready to add the New Flamenco strum to give it an authentic Spanish guitar feel.
