First off, big thanks to the folks at Emerald Guitars for letting me review this beauty. What I really want to drive home in this review is how big and powerful — yet comfortable — this guitar is.
The X30 has this robust bass that is jaw-dropping. It also is able to push a lot of volume without losing clarity in the sound. And truly, one of my favorite parts about the X 30 is how comfortable it is in my hands.
There’s a bevel on the front, a bevel on the back, and the cutaway allows you to play in the upper register without any obstacles.
As far as aesthetics, you probably noticed that this Emerald X30 is visually striking. Emerald does a fantastic job on their Select Series, to which this guitar belongs to. While the entire body and neck are carbon fiber, the top of the guitar has a quilted maple veneer.
There’s an almost 3-D, water-like effect that is irresistible to look at.
