In this series of video guitar lessons I will show you how to play Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door by Guns N’ Roses note-for-note.

Many bands or solo artists have covered Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door, but Guns N’ Roses’ version is by far the most popular version of this Bob Dylan classic.

In these two video lessons I will cover all the rhythm guitar parts and both of the solos. The solos will be taught in the second video lesson.

Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door would be great for any intermediate level guitarist to learn. The rhythm parts are quite easy and the two solos are some of Slash’s most melodic.

There aren’t any fast licks to master just soulful melodic guitar soloing at it’s best.

I teach both of the solos phrase by phrase since that is the best way to learn them and get them memorized quickly.

As with most of Slash’s solos, there are lot’s of bends to contend with. You may not want to practice them over and over again while getting them memorized since they can tear up your calluses pretty quickly. Just 10-15 minutes a day for a few days in a row should do the trick just fine.

Have fun with this one guys and check out all my GN’R lesson here:
