📚 Description: Today we are going to make sense of the Gibson Les Paul Widows. About a year ago, when I saw a Widow for sale, I thought “cool – a colored Les Paul” but then I wanted to know their full history. These started in 2009 as a Sam Ash exclusive run called the Black Widow. From there, Gibson did a run in 2012 in 5 colors with rosewood fretboards. They have been available since as custom orders/limited runs with richlite fretboards. In 2020, Gibson brought back ebony fretboards and birthed the 4th generation of widow! However, today, I came across a rare, pre-production run purple widow birthed in 2010! Let’s discuss this topic in detail and take a look at some great beauty shots!
