This lesson is the first of two concentrating on the chord style of Jimi Hendrix. His chord work seemed to walk the line between rhythm and lead. I have broken-up his approach to rhythm with a few examples in the first video and in the second video we will use those examples to learn the intro to “Little Wing”. This lesson was recorded with the guitar tuned to standard EADGBE tuning. Jimi’s tunes one half step below standard tuning for this song, so if you wanna play along with him just tune every string down a half step. I taught the lesson in standard tuning because that is what most guitarist’s play in.
