In jazz guitar, an arpeggio is when you play the tones of a chord in order as single notes. They can be used during solos to outline the notes of a chord. This will give your solos a clarity and direction that’s just not possible by only using scales! In this lesson, we’ll cover arpeggio shapes for the six chord qualities that we learned in Jazz Guitar Toolbox 2.1 – Twelve Essential Chords.
