For this video lesson we will take a look at the classic Beatles song “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”. Written by George Harrison it has become one of the Beatles’ most beloved songs.

The reasons for this is are many including the memorable guitar solos performed by the great Eric Clapton. But in addition to those cool solo lines we have some very nice chord progressions as well.

On a technical level, you shouldn’t have much of a problem learning “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” if you can play barre chords well. If you aren’t very good at playing barre chords yet, now is a great opportunity to learn while playing a really great song!

All in all you only have two chord progressions you will need to learn with this song so you should be playing it in no time. You will learn the haunting A minor progression with it’s nice chromatic bass line first. Then the song makes an abrupt shift to it’s parallel key of A major. The A major chord progression is more uplifting and less ominous sounding making it a nice contrast.

The A major section is the more difficult section to learn due to it’s liberal use of barre chords, but as I stated before, I think it makes a great barre chord workout if you need a little work on them.

If you would like to learn all of the guitar solos recorded by Eric Clapton for the classic Beatles track, simply help this video lesson get 600 “likes” on YouTube I and will then teach the entire song note-for-note.

So enjoy learning the chords to this great Beatles song and I will be back here soon with those solos as soon as you guys get those “likes” going!
