Now it is time to take a look at the immortal Stevie Ray Vaughan. He is by far my favorite blues guitarist of all time and is also one of the most highly requested artists here at GuitarLessons365. So without further adieu, I present to you “Pride And Joy”.
I remember sitting at home as a teenager, on the couch playing my guitar when the news broke of his untimely death. I was a total rock head so I didn’t really know of his playing but as they showed some concert footage of him playing during the newscast I was just floored. He didn’t play the guitar, he attacked it. To the point that you almost felt sorry for the guitar. To this day I have never seen someone put so much passion into his music.

So in this lesson series we are gonna try to do justice to this classic tune. Before I get any emails, YES the full performance video is in the song’s original tuning of Eb, however I teach the note-for-note lessons in standard tuning so anyone with a locking trem system can still learn the song the way he played it. Take your time piecing every part together, there is a lot of stuff to learn here, but it is a blast to play after you get it all together!! Cheers!!
