In this video we go over the easiest (and most accurate) way to play Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. We also show you a simple technique, called “arpeggiation,” that will allow you to pick out single notes from the chord shapes to make it sound more like the Jeff Buckley version.
The chords used are all really simple: G, C, D, Em and B7. If you need help with those, you can find them all in our free eBook here: http://goodguitarist.com/ebook-extras/
We also show you a strumming pattern that captures the rhythm of the song and is not too difficult (it’s only downstrokes!). And if you’re having trouble with the timing I we teach you how to count along to the song in a reallllly simple way.
I hope you enjoy this lesson and have a great time practicing!
