Electric Wizard Guitar Lesson – Funeralopolis

Electric
In this stoner doom guitar lesson I teach you the entire rhythm section and solo concepts from Electric Wizard’s Funeralopolis from the Dopethrone album. The song is broken down into its main riffs, each demonstrated and explained in full detail.

This lesson is based on recent live versions of the song where the guitars are tuned to B Standard (guitars are tuned to A# in the original recording).

String gauge: 11 – 14 – 18 – 28 – 38 – 49

The song is played in the key of B Minor and it’s riffs utilize elements from the 8-tone B Minor Blues Scale {R, M2, b3, p4, b5, p5, b6, b7}, along with the appearances of the b2, borrowed from the Phrygian Mode, and the M7, borrowed from the Harmonic Minor Scale.

A 5 Minute Jam Track for the intro solo played in the key of B Minor can be found here:

Here is a great live version of the song played in B-Standard for reference: https://youtu.be/EU0TUR-o6gE
