These five picking patterns have been taken from famous guitar songs, but rather than show you those songs I thought it more interesting and beneficial to show how you can apply these fingerpicking patterns to your own chord progressions.
Not only that, but in doing so I will teach you some new chord grips. We’ll be working from a simple I-V-VImi-IV progression in the key of G major (i.e. G-D-Em-C). For each picking pattern I have arranged some new chord voicings to not only work your finger picking technique, but also working on your arrangements and chord vocabulary.
